First Sketch Of Front Cover

To start thinking about how our magazine front cover is going to look, me and my partner put our idea's together and came up with this sketch. We decided on having a science related story as the main cover story as our school is a specialist science college, and also attracts many of our target audience. We also wanted to make sure that the masthead was clear, and looked appealing to the target audience, without looking too boring or sophisticated to keep up high interests in the magazine. We made sure that other stories and images were laid out appropriately so they can be read and understood easily without blocking the main image or other text. This sketch will help us enormously to design a draft of the front cover using DTP, and will give us a basic guide to how we want it to look.
